Athletics

A quick note about the Athletics page: Below, you will find a list of fall, winter, spring and summer sports, with pages for each sport still to come. Once each sport’s page has been completed, the name of the sport will be changed to purple, indicating it is a clickable link.

Organization and Administration

Burlington Community Schools are members of the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union. The purpose of these organizations is to promote, develop, direct, protect, and regulate amateur interscholastic athletic relationships between member schools and to stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry, and good sportsmanship among contestants, schools, and communities throughout the state.

Southeast Conference

Burlington is a member of the Southeast Conference. The Southeast Conference includes Burlington, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Mount Pleasant, and Washington High Schools.

The management of this conference is handled by the athletic directors, with final responsibility and authority vested in the Board of Control, consisting of principals of the member schools.
